Default The Christian Right finds more ways to humiliate itself

A number of right-wing website, such as that of the AFA(American Family Association) have been using auto-correction filters to automatically change words of various articles they post from various news organizations, such as the AP. For example, "the Democratic Party" becomes "the Democrat Party".

Well, here's what happened to a story about the sprinter Tyson Gay.

Tyson Homosexual easily won his semifinal for the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials and seemed to save something for the final later Sunday.

His wind-aided 9.85 seconds was a fairly cut-and-dry performance compared to what happened a day earlier. On Saturday, Homosexual misjudged the finish in his opening heat and had to scramble to finish fourth, then in his quarterfinal a couple of hours later, ran 9.77 to break the American record that had stood since 1999. […]

Homosexual didn’t get off to a particularly strong start in the first semifinal, but by the halfway mark he had established a comfortable lead. He slowed somewhat over the final 10 meters-nothing like the way-too-soon complete shutdown that almost cost him Saturday. Asked how he felt, Homosexual said: “A little fatigued.”

I never really got the point of calling them the "Democrat Party". Are they trying to say that they're not democratic? It's still got 'democrat' in the name though, so I don't know how effective that would be.

Not to mention the last line of the Flintstones theme song: "You'll have a homosexual old time!"

In Australia we have a song about a kookaburra. The chorus goes

Laugh kookaburra
Laugh kookaburra
Gay your life must be.

I am disappointed that the word gay which used to be a good way to express how you might be feeling has become a word that means something totally different.
Pity a new and different word could not have been found or made.

Why does disappointed = pissing off?

Just trying to remake another word into a pejorative like librul a la Limbaugh. Limbaugh really hammers the word "Democrat" with disdain when he refers to the Democrat Party.

If they can't win an argument on merit...

Try harder to disappoint or to piss off?
I spent 22 years working for Telstra. I'm hard to piss off, but easy to disappoint.

Who is this royal 'we'?

They'd rather die than put 'homosexual' and 'lord' together. Leave it to the Christers to shoot their own feet...

This has to be one of the funniest ways the Christian Right has made itself look like a fucktard. WTF indeed.
